Three tangerine toffees there in Alan Ainscow, an excellent player who played in the Anglo Italian trophy triumph In 71 before he'd even played a league game or signed a contract. Soon did though lol
Gary Megson a one season ok manager and Mike Walsh a solid back who spent 5 or 6 seasons at BR.
Ainscow was going to be HK's busy right winger. Unfortunately for the player - though perhaps fortunately for the Club since his ultimate replacement was Trevor Steven - his career was ruined by an injury from an awful challenge from a yard dog called Kilcline in a game at Notts County.

Some talent in those two teams! Johnson, Whittle, Seargeant in the centre of defence, Archie Styles, Billy Kenny (senior), and of course @Dario Terracotta at right back, where he might well have been given the runaround by either Dave Thomas or Steve Kindon. Two good youth set ups for the time.

..as I keep saying, the FA Youth Cup remains an indicator of having talent coming through the ranks, either a truly outstanding individual (Rooney) or a few as was the case here.
