The name of the Titanic guy was Peter Sloan. Googling 'Peter Sloan' provides a summary of his life. He was the same age as my granddad - both born 1881.That could be my grandad standing there! There is family folklore that says he played one game for Everton when they were short of players due to a flu epidemic. Never found out if it was true. He played mostly for Old Xaverians (who are still going) and a team called Valkyrie. I have a team photo which I am sure is Valkyrie. There was a lad played in the team who was an electrician on the Titanic. Sadly he didn't survive.
