His debut in English football for Arsenal after his transfer from Hibs. Went with a couple of school mates who were Chelsea. We had never seen so much fighting, even on war films, and the tube was crazy town as United were at West Ham the same day. An experience for a 13 year old. (Of course we bigger it up in school on the Monday lol)

Of course. I'd assumed you were talking about Palace losing to Chelsea at Highbury for some reason.

Thanks mate. Do you know, I had completely forgotten about him playing for Southampton!!

I saw Keegan with Southampton in a pre season friendly with Shamrock Rovers at Lansdowne Road in July 1980. I think I still have the programme somewhere. Probably in the attic!

I am pretty sure Bally didn't play in that game - I think I would remember seeing my hero!!

Reminds me of the guy who used to stand on the corner of Goodison Road by the church with his banner,

I remember seeing similar on one of the old large tin badges on sale at GP.

Another favourite was"I'd rather watch Crossroads than watch L****pool". Showing my age I know ......again.......
