For me, there is something fundamentally beautiful about those kits with central hoops. Never seen the Everton one before, ( hoops of blue and amber presumably?) but the old Palace kit c1961 and the Sampdoria kits are things of beauty.

I suspected that would be the case but hoped for better. I wasn't there obviously but strangely feel ashamed.

I'm sure our crowds weren't on their own for this. Must have been awful for black players then. Still needs some sorting but back then...... ?
Cliff Marshall - Goodison Pioneer
Another brilliant interview by Rob Sawyer, with Cliff Marshall, a local lad from Toxteth who became Everton's first black player back in the 1970s.
It was a totally different era, no way would they get away with it now - The Bananas thrown at John Barnes at Goodison was embarrassing , but he just waved it off as banter to cool the hostile atmosphere ....
