Not sure when this was taken but pre 1969, but can’t see the flood light pylons what date were they removed.

Much earlier I think as no D behind the goals eating into the terraces to stop items being thrown at goalkeepers. That was there before 1966 WC and into the 70s. You are right about no pylons so I would say 40s or 50s.

Look at the creases in his trousers. You could cut your finger on them they are so sharp. Lovely couple.
You run a bar of soap down the inside of the crease, turn them back the right way out then press with hot iron and damp cotton tea towel, on the hanger for an hour or two to air - sorted. (@Methuselah )

You could always judge a man by the crease in his kecks, but the clincher was if he'd polished the heel of his shoes a brightly as the toe, a poorly polished heel means inattention to detail a general lacksadasical attitude...probably the sort of chap that goes through life trying to push doors marked pull.
