There are a couple of closed threads, Boss Threads at that as well, I suggest that these should be merged and reopened by a mod as they are too good to be shut down forever.

3 weeks after destroying West Germany in the World Cup final Alan Ball makes his Everton debut at Fulham & scores the only goal of the game, pictured here with England team mates Ray wilson & George Cohen.

Go back to your 'arl club & not celebrate scoring ?

Not The Latch, back at St Andrews he puts 1 past his brother in the Brum Goal and by the looks of it enjoys it.

Wonderful photo of Latch. I was there as a 11 year old with my late Dad. He had not long signed for us. St Andrews was "moody" that day. I can remember it well. My old man steering me away from trouble.

Brilliant photo. I was on Scottie Rd with thousands of other blues, who came out to celebrate. Thanks for posting.
Do you know where the P McCartney one was taken? Is it the 68 cup final?
there is a photo of McCartney at the 68 final, but its not that one. At the final, McCartney wore an amber and blue scarf (the colours we wore that day). There is a colour picture of him walking with the crowds, up wembley way. It may he on this site, somewhere.
it is thought to be the first evidence of sponsorship in modern football. All the Everton players were given £150 to wear Puma boots in the final, so i was told by someone who worked for the club at the time. He told me, the majority of the players were wearing Puma for the first time, and with not being used to them, it put them off their game. Only Labone, Morrissey and Harvey wore them generally.
