The super classy Colin Harvey -

View attachment 169038

I had three teddy bears as a kid, one called Colin (I still have him although he is a bit shook!), one called Joe (Joey) and one called Brian.

My main hero was Bally I don't know why I didn't name one Alan - then again I had the full kit, round collar RBJ with No 8 on the back, white socks and shorts - so I suppose I was filling the role!!

We were so lucky to see these players plus in the 1980s - I feel so sorry for our younger fans who hopefully one day will have heroes we have had -

my mates dad , who i used to go the game with as he was getting on,, absolutely loved him said he was the best he had ever seen playing for us,
My father told me about him, a complete footballer - he had to play CF one game scored two for us - Dixie Dean rated him higher that the great John Charles - his reason J Charles had a crouched style about him, but was great - TG was upright with elegance absolutely oozed class - Dixie claimed only the disruption of WW2 halted TG Jones his words -"the most complete footballer He had ever seen in that era compared him to Franz Beckenbauer...... of his era.....
