I remember being at the game with Spurs and Greaves was talking to Ray Wilson at a corner in the Gwladys street end, he had his hands on his hips not interested in what was going on .The ball came across and like lighting he got on the end of the cross and scored,but he was no good at pressing or covering for the full back so by todays standard he was rubbish.
 
The very underrated John Hurst, a great dual centre half with Labby as a former forward could break out of deence and score many times - they raved about John Stones this guy was easily better than him - by a mile -

I rember Geoff Hurst being asked who was the hardest player he played against , and he named John Hurst and never got an English cap he was only 5ft 10ins the same as me when i was 17teen but was domint in the air.J
 
Header, rising like a salmon on the Street End penalty spot to send the ball past Brown in the Spurs goal sending the capacity crowd wild.
Yes that was the game i was at and have pointed out if you look at the photo of the goal,Bill Brown is at full stretch Alex is about foot above him.Its not about how tall you are it's about timing and and spring of step.
