…I remember Emlyn Hughes playing LB for Blackpool at Goodison. Many years later, I knew him a little when I was a very young lad playing footy and I always found him pleasant.
I thought he was a good footballer the the Magic - Tragic address killed it for me ......

Not sure Peter Osgood would remember much of the pleasant side to Hughes after a League cup tie middle 60s. The leg break that was heard around the world. Well, all of Bloomfield Road anyway. A shocker.
He was never forgiven for that stupid outburst - Everton fans were there as it was the first Mersey side team to win the European cup too......plus on local TV .....
