The Special Agent. Signed from non league Worcester City. From period of strange signings by Gordon Lee. Eamonn O'Keefe also signed from a non league side, Mossley. Decent enough but never top flight level, especially after he broke his leg. He is not exactly at the top of my list of favourite Everton defenders named John (Bailey, Hurst, Gidman, Heitinga etc.)
So sorry there was a poster who was a big John Barton fan - he did leave us to have a good career at Coventry at full back ....I saw him a few times, he was a good right back defensively
Back home in Hanley with the Potters by this stage. Looking relatively young in this portrait. Late forties maybe still a ways to go. Shorts got more soiled as he played on with a fall off in skill levels from his Tangerine pomp.
I think there is a poster called Johnny Barton but if I recall correctly he wasn't too keen on Gordon Lee's football or the player himself. I suppose you'd call that post modern irony. By the way, the BCN in my username is for Barcelona (where I live).
