That top photo was one of the best ever EFC goals scored, it was at Elland road & I was right behind it as a young teenager in the cow shed end we got beat 2-1 - our unbeaten record gone - we were robbed .... a great photo Brian

It's 118 years to the day since Welsh international goalkeeper Leigh Roose made his Everton debut at home to Sunderland, ironically another club he would go on to play for in his long career. Leigh was reported missing in action on the Western Front, France, in October 1916.

I was just in my early 20s but was also at that game. Round that time I was managing to see around 40 league games a season (never made the full 42)
