Yes it was Cardiff City v Everton Testimonial game for Brian Harris - in Brians book some one run off with the gate monies tragic!
Brian Harris is in the picture behind the ref, and Dixie
Right, thanks. My uncle was the ref for Alex Young's testimonial at Holly Park, Ken Dodd brought Dixie on in a wheelbarrow to kick off, hence my query.I must have been about 9 years old.

Yes both he and Bally got booked to put themselves on a ban - ironically The other lot played UNT at home the following week got tattered 4-1 at homelol
They were battered by Utd...I remember as a kid being made up it was on MOTD - Bobby Charlton scored a cracker. Couldnt ever stand Hughes the way he carried on when he scored in that 3-0 and then later full stop for everything else. Loved it in subsequent years when I was old enough to go in Gwladys St and the chant went up when he was on the ball "Emlyn, Emlyn.. Danny La Rue...Emlyn...Danny La Rue". Mild now when you think of some of the stuff chanted now.

Used to occasionally see him in Ainsdale Village when I was growing up,a grown man in a full England Tracksuit,"Look at me,look at me"lol
