Yeah as it turned out. Double balls up. Roger was so disappointed not to get on the pitch. Especially as it went extra time. And as the game was played out with the Toffees unable to hit a barn door from two feet away, Young would have been a good option on the bench. Or maybe it was just one of those days.I read in Alex Youngs book he was gutted he wasn't at least on the bench that day,he'd had their defence on toast twice that season, aaaaaaah well!!!

Loved him to bits as my many posts on him will testify.Former Everton centre forward, Fred Pickering was born in Blackburn. Sadly died in 2019. Fred scored 70 times in 115 matches for The Toffees.
