Manchester City have a long and colourful history with Everton. The rivalry has seen some classic encounters between the Blue halves of the cities at either end of the M62, particularly in cup competition. A third replay was required when they meet in the sixth round of the FA Cup in the 1965-66 season, with two 0-0 draws preceding a 2-0 win for Everton which cleared their passage to winning the trophy. The Goodison Park outfit also came out on top in a meeting at Wembley for the 1932-33 FA Cup final, as Jimmy Stein, Dixie Dean and James Dunn netted in a 3-0 win.
