It had to be dug up as I stated when we had frosty pitches or snowbound pitches it melted OK, but killed large areas of grass which caused mud heaps on thaw ...... It was redone successfully... to stop this happening ....

As a consequence it was known as Mudison Park for a while.

6th January 1968. Everton centre half Brian Labone & Tommy Wright prove they are too strong for Wolves Derek Dougan - we won away 3-1 Big Joe scored 2 & a certain Mike Trebicock scored the other - I was there - a favourite away ground for myself loved the South Bank Kop they had, the blues fans about 10,000 made a hell of a noise in it -

My brother's best mate was a true blue - loved Dougan he wanted us to sign him - we went to Wolves away - chatted up the young girl selling programmes - never seen him again - nailed on he married her - back in Liverpool I traced him on Facebook - a still big Doogan fan plus living back in Merseyside his hobby collecting Doogan old photos Plus he was now a Wolves fan ...... lol
