Players were so different in those days, I was at that game and somebody in the crowd thew an orange at Maurice Setters, Setters picked it up, took a bite, gave a thumbs up to the Goodison Road terrace, from where it was thrown, and carried on with the game. In these days the player involved would have pretended that the orange hit him and rolled uncontrollably on the floor, hoping to cause some sort of mischief.

No humour in the game anymore, where are the characters like, Dougan, Summerbee, West, Setters et al?

Summerbee used to love the banter at Goodison,I’ve read somewhere goodison was his favourite away ground!!
