I've tried googling why we played in white in some of our cup ties at home - I think it was just a whim - Catterick had the day before TBH ...
Or the ethos of the time was; in cup games - any clash and the home team changed as they had the facilities to do so at hand...especially if your other kit was back in Milan or where ever.

Or Catterick had a feeling in his water the night before.

Now apply Occam's razor - which seems more likely.

My red mancs brother, who is 8 years older than me, is visiting atm.

He remembers Peter calling into our father's Little newsagent shop in the late 60s early 70s.

He remembers him as an 'absolute gentleman '.

It was my brother who used to bring me to Rovers matches, and of course the most significant life changing friendly, when he took me to Rovers v Everton in 1970.

I was already smitten by that team with Bally my idol and those iconic white boots. To see them in the flesh changed my life forever!!
