Thomas 'Gordon' Watson.Gordon came to Everton from the NE & won the league title in 1939. Later, he became a long-serving coach, hospitality worker & tour guide for the club. A near-lifetime in love with the Toffees.

1978 - Birmingham City 1-3 Everton. A good win on the road for Gordon Lee’s Blues, as victory at St Andrews kept EFC in 2nd place in the league table. Goals from Bob Latchford, Colin Todd & a Trevor Ross penalty delighted the travelling EFC fans.
1979 - Everton 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion. A much needed win for Gordon Lee's struggling Blues at Goodison. Goals from Andy King & Brian Kidd lifted EFC up to 13th place in the league table.
1985 - WBA 0-3 Everton. A straightforward win for the Blues at the Hawthorns, with Gary Lineker, Kevin Sheedy & a rare goal from Pat Van Den Hauwe handing the Blues the win, which kept them 6th in the league table.
1957 - Man City 6-2 Everton. A unique match as this is the only time in EFC history that EFC have conceded 3 penalties in the same match - all converted by Man City's Ken Barnes for a hat trick. Dave Hickson was also sent off for the Blues. A bad day for EFC at Maine Road.
1950 - Terry Darracott was born. The iconic defender made his EFC debut in a 2-0 win over Arsenal in April 1968 & went on to make 179 appearances for Everton. He later became a coach at EFC during the 1980s. He sadly passed away in March 2022 at the age of 71.
1930 - Everton 6-4 Oldham Athletic. A 10 goal thriller for the Blues at Goodison, with Dixie Dean scoring 4 & Ted Critchley & Jimmy Dunn each chipping in with one goal to seal the victory for EFC.
1983 - Everton 2-0 West Ham United. An extra time win at Goodison for the Blues in this Milk Cup 4th round replay, as they booked their place in the Milk Cup quarter finals & a tie away at Oxford Utd. Andy King & Kevin Sheedy scored the goals.
1993 - Howard Kendall resigned as Everton manager, bringing to an end his 2nd spell as boss. Just hours after EFC had won at Goodison to go 11th in the league table, Kendall resigned, claiming the Board had not backed him when he wished to sign Dion Dublin from Man Utd.
