1971 - Everton 2-2 Huddersfield Town. A draw at home for Harry Catterick’s struggling Blues, as they remained in 16th place. David Johnson & Peter Scott scored for EFC, the latter being Scott’s 1st goal for EFC.
1958 - Bolton Wanderers 0-3 Everton. One day after beating Bolton 1-0 at Goodison, the Blues were victorious 3-0 in the reverse fixture at Burnden Park. Goals from Dave Hickson. Jimmy Harris & Graham Williams sealed the win.
1930 - Everton 9-1 Plymouth Argyle. The joint-2nd biggest win in a competitive game for EFC in club history. 4 goals for Dixie Dean, 4 goals for Jimmy Stein & 1 goal from Thomas Johnson kept EFC top of Division 2.
1957 - Everton 1-1 Bolton Wanderers. The final ever Blues match on a Christmas Day saw them draw 1-1 with Bolton at Goodison, thanks to a goal from George Kirby (pictured below).
1936 - Everton 7-0 Derby County. The Blues biggest victory on Christmas Day saw Jimmy Cunliffe score a hat trick whilst Dixie Dean & Alex Stevenson each scored a brace each.
1934 - Everton 6-2 Sunderland. A big win for the Blues over the Mackems, thanks to 2 goals from Jimmy Cunliffe, plus goals from Dixie Dean, Jackie Coulter, Alex Stevenson & Albert Geldard sealed the win for EFC.
1926 - Everton 5-4 Sunderland. The Blues won a 9 goal festive thriller at Goodison thanks to 4 goals from Dixie Dean & 1 goal from Bobby Irvine, a win that lifted EFC to 19th, out of the relegation zone.
1891 - Everton 0-4 Sunderland. Our first match on a Christmas Day was an unhappy affair, as the reigning League Champions were thrashed at home by the Mackems.
1998 - Local media speculation stated that Everton Vice-Chairman Bill Kenwright was in negotiations to purchase Peter Johnson's majority shareholding in Everton.
2002 - With Everton facing a goalkeeping crisis with Richard Wright, Steve Simonsen & Paul Gerrard all injured, the Blues signed free agent goalkeeper Espen Baardsen on a 2 month deal. He played once for EFC, before voluntarily retiring from football at the age of 25.
30th April 1933-Everton supporter celebrates his team's victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup final, by waving a customised umbrella in Trafalgar Square, London.
