Derek Mayers. This local lad played in the wing for the Toffees, having his career interrupted by National Service. After 19 EFC appearances, Cliff Britton took him to Preston North End. He also had spells at Leeds United, Bury, Wrexham & in Australia.
The late, great Brian Labone in 1940. An Evertonian from cradle to the grave, he made 534 appearances for his beloved Blues - the most by any outfield player.
