Derek Mayers. This local lad played in the wing for the Toffees, having his career interrupted by National Service. After 19 EFC appearances, Cliff Britton took him to Preston North End. He also had spells at Leeds United, Bury, Wrexham & in Australia.
The late, great Brian Labone in 1940. An Evertonian from cradle to the grave, he made 534 appearances for his beloved Blues - the most by any outfield player.
Andrei Kanchelskis, scored 22 goals in 60 appearances for Everton.

Born this week in 1907, the ultimate Everton player: W.R. ‘Dixie’ Dean. A legend in his own lifetime. We were so thrilled to arrange a tribute evening in 2018, to mark the centenary of his 60 league goal season.

This week in 2000 - Local media reported that Bill Kenwright had formally submitted a £20m bid to buy Peter Johnson's majority shareholding in Everton, pricing EFCs shares at £857 a share.
This week 1986 - Everton 3-1 Blackburn Rovers. EFC advanced to the FA Cup 5th Round with victory over Blackburn Rovers at Goodison. Two goals from Gary Lineker & 1 from Pat Van Den Hauwe secured the win.
This week 1999 - Everton 1-0 Ipswich Town. The Blues advanced to the FA Cup 5th Round with victory over Ipswich. Nick Barmby scored EFCs only goal.
This week 1982 - Wolves 0-3 Everton. A big win on the road for Howard Kendall’s Blues at Molyneux. Two goals from Alan Irvine & 1 from Kevin Richardson sealed the win as EFC moved up to 5th in the league table.
This week 1971 - Everton 3-0 Middlesbrough. The Blues advanced to the FA Cup 5th Round with victory over Middlesbrough. Goals came from Colin Harvey, Henry Newton & Joe Royle.
This week 1960 - Everton 6-1 Nottingham Forest. A huge win for Johnny Carey’s Blues, as they climbed out of the relegation zone & up to 18th. Goals from Alex Parker, Alan Shackleton, Bobby Collins & a hat trick from Eddie Thomas sealed the win.
