My first Everton away game, I was twelve went with my mate Mick who was ten, we went with thousands of Bluenoses, who watched that horrible first half then roared on the Toffees fight back with two goals from John Willie Parker and a terrific free kick goal from Peter Farrell which had to be taken twice, Bolton were rattled but hung on and we had Dave Hickson playing on after being concussed in the second half, a valiant but unsuccessful attempt that day.My old fella went,4-0 down at half time,we got a penalty, Tommy Clinton missed,we then got back to 4-3Everton that!!
The team was rewarded the following season with promotion from the second division and have been in the top flight ever since and we will continue there next season no matter how hard the premier league officials are doing their best to send us down. We shall not be moved!!
