I have never seen a better performance, from Everton OR other, in my lifetime. It could have been 10. We annihilated them, and it was from this point on that myself, and I think the majority of Evertonian's thought we were onto something special. The discussions all around the ground after the game were like nothing I had witnessed before, or ever since....yes there was euphoria but it was quiet and calm...and we were all sort of saying things like "what in the world did we just witness?". My favorite 2 week as an Evertonian:
Oct 20 - Liverpool away won 1-0
Oct 24 - travelled to Bratislava to watch us win away (1-0) in Europe
Oct 27 - Man Utd home won 5-0
Oct 30 - Man Utd away (Milk Cup) - oh the stuff we got pelted with that night!
Nov 3 - Leicester home won 1-0 went top of the league and never looked back.
Great times indeed! Unreal.
For @Alan Whittle - Alan reels away at the pit with Tommy Smith looking forlorn as he scores in 1970 in our 2-0 win on our way to win the title that year - I stood on the KOP - a fantastic game -
