1906 Everton march on to Wembley after a 2-0 derby FA Cup semi-final win at Villa Park. Goals from Walter Abbott & Harold Hardman. The Toffees went on to win the cup for the 1st time later in the season.
1999 - Everton 2-0 Coventry City. A non-televised Sunday game for the Blues, moved to Sunday to avoid clashing with the Grand National the previous day. Two goals from Kevin Campbell secured victory for EFC.
1973 - It was announced that Harry Catterick had departed as EFC boss after 12yrs to take up a non-exec EFC role. An all-time great, he won 2 titles & 1 FA Cup. The reality was Catterick continued to oversee 1st team affairs with Tommy Eggleston until the end of season.
1984 - Luton Town 0-3 Everton. A week before the FA Cup Semi Final, the Blues were victorious in this Easter Saturday fixture at Kenilworth Road. Adrian Heath scored twice (one a penalty) & Derek Mountfield scored the other goal.
Jack Sharp. After having Jack Taylor on the wing (he featured in this series as a half-back), the Blues signed Sharp from Aston Villa. A bona ride Everton legend, FA Cup winner & cricket/football international & businessman.
