THEY were dubbed “The Magnificent Seven” and much was expected of the first outriders of Howard Kendall’s Everton revolution in 1981. But ultimately, all but one of the new manager’s first seven signings had much less impact on the pitch than Kendall himself.

The midfield star of the 1970 title-winning team was still such an accomplished footballer late into his 30s, that he was able to set an example for his players to follow on the training pitch -

Remember that
,was the 1989 cup final,Trevor Steven had been in the papers the morning of the game stating basically he was on his way,we were getting beat 1-0,Tricky Trev wasn't having the best of games and I think this lad ran on the pitch out of frustration especially as it was against the RS,funnily enough we equalised through McCall straight after:lol::lol::lol:
