I had the pleasure of seeing this guy in 1963 as a 6 year old, then when he teamed up with Bally what a delight to see he wore the no 7 shirt then he was idolised as he floated over the mud his ability was fantastic, his leap and hanging in the air was a delight to see - Royston Vernon sadly gets overlooked as he played a great role in 1963, and before reading his autobiography now - The fans Idolised them both, but the GV was adorned by the Goodison faithful, the banners in the Glwladys street had only his name on them mostly and when he scored they went berserk......
