Even in training Eggo and Peter were inseparable! What a friendship.

I found this lovely article on Tommy and Peter - a few typos including Peter's death was 16 March 1998 not 93, on the eve of St Patrick's Day - , but nonetheless fascinating to hear the words of the great man himself.

‘I think that there was more enjoyment and fun in the days that Peter and I played. There’s so much money in the game now, and more pressure on players.’


I couldn't find an article on Peter himself, but there is plenty of mention of him in Eggo's article.

I am sure the pair are chuffed at Rovers' excellent European run this year - 3-0 tonight at home to Bosnian champions FK Borac Banja Luka, and are the first Irish club to be involved in a European competition after Christmas :) !!

.....and then I went and did a typo. Peter died 16 March 1999!! Mea culpa!

I remember it so well, Mrs BR, our 20 month old daughter and my late parents were heading to Edinburgh for the weekend when we heard the news.
