What year was the photo of the goal away to Burnley. Whose goal. I feel it was around 1971.

I would guess 1969 maybe as Jimmy Husband looks quite young. Certainly wasn’t 1970 as it was thick with snow that year when we won 2-1 which in my view was the result that gave us the momentum to go and win the league. How the game ever took place I don’t know as it took us about 4 hours to drive up to Burnley in thick snow

67-68 was a Husband header and 66-67 Ball scored from the penalty spot. That's why I was suggesting a later date.

When I look at my records Tony Waiters was in goal in 70-71 for Burnley so I guess the photo must be of the goal headed by Husband in 67-68 but from a different angle to my posted photo. Hurst appears to be in the correct place. Can anyone confirm.

What waste of talent that lad was,used to watch him in the reserves and he was some player.
Then he would get a chance and never looked remotely the same player you had seen before.
Shame really could have been a really good player for us if he had a bit more confidence in himself.

Agreed - unbelievable how he just drifted out of the game after leaving us. Left over money, according to the club, but didn't get on with Billy Bingham. Had a couple of years with the Everton Old Boys at Birmingham then went to play in the US, like a lot did at the time.

Should have been a star.
