Back In the day, I've been up one of those wooden ladders, not quite that tall though.
When you're half way up is the worse part, they flex and bow like one of those wobble boards...overalls tucked in your boots time.
I hated going up wooden ladders.... old bloke next door used to tie two together to reah his gutters & walk them along while up there to save him coming down all the time :eek:
 
….Commutation Row got its name from a dispute its residents had with the Inland Revinue. In 1696 tax was paid on the number of window panes a house had, so the residents here made their windows bigger with fewer panes. The dispute was resolved with an agreement called ‘commutation’;
