…my old house is just cut off the top if that pic. SFX Salisbury St at the bottom where my own father and many of my friends went. Charlie Chaplin also attended SFX when he was a child performer at nearby Henglers Circus.

…the fish market in Gt Charlotte St opened in 1823, not sure when it closed and the building demolished. I think the women fish sellers were called ‘Sally-Anne’s’;

Huyton Quarry School - this looks very much like my infants school - I lived over the road in Derby Street from it - remember it being demolished for a new Junior & Infants school - all Church of St Gabriel's school - this would have been a church school too -

….certainly plenty of pics on here of her, so sad it’s ended like it has. I can remember going to a disco on her in the ‘70s, many of the Mersey Ferries saw service in WW2.

economic downturn has always resulted in things going up in flames. that and vandalism. so many things to save as part of cultural historic tradition, so little cash with which to do it. you know who's talons I lay the blame at.
