Aston Villa, Watford & Sheffield United. Wigan could be on the bubble but will pull a Pompey at the end. Pompey always will pull a Pompey. The Great Escape artists.

Reading will be the surprise this year. (agree with Tx Bill)Somewhat like West Ham/Wigan last year.

Ooooooof....Fulham thrashed 5-1 by ManU.

I think they're early favorites for the drop and with Coleman being first sacking of the season.

Also, Reading is staying up. You heard it here first.

Monty Blue I think we all have thought with Reading scoring 99 goals last season they will be to good to go down this year. Unless there is a mass exodus of their quality players to other clubs in the near term or the winter window I expect them to be on par with what the Hammers did last year. They certainly didn't fold after going two down yesterday.

I Agree Fulham, Villa and did Blackburn lose its way when then lost Bellamy? could be candidates for the drop. Still Thinking Watford, Villa and now Fulham more than Sheffield United after last weeks performance. But Fulham has big money backing so who knows.

TBM, Fulham have problems in the changing room, Malbranque and that snivveling f--ker Radzinski, Watford are a very good team and I think they'll escape, it will be close. Villa will raly under O'Neil and money from abroad, Man City are struggling they've had a poor preseason and Pearce will struggle. As for Sheffield Utd, they will try and play cup football all season and fail, Warnock lacks wit.

Being fair, the boro defending was woeful, if at all it could be classed as defending.

fulham dont seem to be able to get players in, poor defence, average midfield now worse off losing steed, and an average attack. al fayed hasnt splashed any real cash and the gates are piss poor.

story at villa is a typical new manager syndrome, lets see how they are 10 games in, because a run of bad results, o'neill will be wielding the axe, and that spectre over the players can drain confidence and team spirit.

city - inexperienced manager, problems in defence, and cole and vassell have stopped scoring, samaras hasnt started. few goals from midfield. tough time ahead for city.

charlton - good attacking line, could be what keeps them up, but lost the creativity of murphy, and havnt replaced him, [Poor language removed] defenders (traore ha ha ha ) - dowie has a job on, does he have the nouse that curbishley showed in keeping a small spending side developing and in the prem.

watford well organised, big strong and happy to kick opponents, manager seems to have some tactical acumen and looks to play towards opposition sides weaknesses - need a proven goal poacher.

wigan struggled to get players of note in, bullard gone, chimbondas possibly staying now, second season problems for jewell, teams are wise to them now, as well as having watched for their weaknesses.

sheffield united i really like this outfit, and they showed they like mixing it and putting nasty challenges in, discipline will certainly be an issue when bans are earned, but we saw wimbledon manage halcyon highs playing the same way. i hope they stay up, especially for unsie and ties sake. the Bolton vs Sheff utd games are gonna be really great games to watch - 'i predict a riot' biggrin.gif

gonna stick with

18 wigan
19 charlton
20 watford

for the time being, injuries, suspensions, and transfers still to play a part. sheff utd and reading staying just out of trouble, with fulham in 17th.

i reckon the same with blackburn, gamst pedersen, savage, friedel, bentley, reid, emerton, roberts, mcarthy. just a bit too much quality to be fair, defence is a pile of poop though. no forgetting mark hughes, looking like a decent manager, great playing career home and abroad, seen a lot of football and a lot of great managers, also has international experience.

I rescind my Villa prediction. Replace Villa with Fulham and I think you have it.
However, Wigan may be a contender. After buying Heskey for 5 1/2 million, you know they are on the way down.

But I will stick with:
Boro
Watford
Fulham

I reckon Watford, West Ham and Charlton will be in the bottom three or thereabouts. Dont be surprised if Sheff Utd or Wigan are sucked into it aswell. Reading will be the surprise of the year, expect them to be a top eight team with aspirations of Europe. For the title, two way race. Utd to be pace setters and Chelsea to chase them all the way. In international news, expect Iran to catch some sailors and keep them before sacking them off

Just call me Nostradamus.
