I’m sensing a funny smell…

I reckon it’s my sinuses, as I sometimes get a nasty taste in my throat afterwards too, which coupled with the weird smell thing, points to some kind of sinus problem.
Could be that mate. Do you suffer from acid reflux? That can affect your taste and what you smell especially at night.

I know how this is gonna go, but has anyone ever experienced phantom smells ( posh name Olfactory Hallucinations ) ?

Basically, you smell something that`s not there, in my case I`ve been waking up in the middle of the night, to the smell of burnt toast, when everyone else is asleep.

I`ve tried shoving rice up my nose, running a magnet over it too and yer ma isn`t downstairs making toast either.
Burnt toast is a stroke.. 😲

I can't speak to that only my experience. It is 100% possible to be your sinuses which I think would be a simpler fix. Have you ever broke your nose? As I say to save a trip to the Hospital, if I was in Liverpool or local to it I would go to Fazakerley or Derriford but opticians can detect certain issue's such as Cancer, and others unfortunately for me my eyesight is almost perfect and I had to go through a couple of seizures, the first one the Police carried me down 3 flights of stairs in a fugue state and put me in their van cause they couldn't get an ambulance on 29/11/2018 after a bit of luck with me half flooding my flat. I spent a week in hospital after several scans and a couple of tablets a day steroids and anti seizure. Amazingly I had my own room which I recommend. My Procedure was scheduled for 18/1/2019 at Derriford and I got to have my first Christmas with family in 13 years.
I came back to my current home on 10/1/19, Had a second seizure on the 14th rushed to Hospital and had my Surgery done on the 16th by a Genuinely top Bloke called Titus!!! We had a brief chat as he had his hands in my head which was weird I will admit!! My post surgery treatment wasn't fun, 33 consecutive scans and trips over the old bridge in Runcorn to Clatterbridge hospital, then a month of Chemo which nobody has ever enjoyed EVER! I still take 2 tablets a day along with Codeine when necessary but I am pretty much fixed and at 97.5% capability.

To make matters worse I was actually excited that "Life Begins at 40!" and I nearly died 3 months into it!?

Don't automatically think the worst! The human body and brain in particular is the most complex organism in the known universe and can on occasion repair itself and Modern Medicine and the Professionals involved specifically in the NHS are superb. If You want any more information I will try to help! Send me an IM and think positive and also avoid the internet.

All in I have been very lucky but 100% the worst part was when an angry nurse Yanked 35 staples from my skull whilst grinning!?
