Yes, he's survived and scored important goals in an arsenal side completely not designed for his style of play mate, that shows a quality player.

Giroud is a clearly an excellent striker. Is he a world beater? no. He's not in the class of Aguero but he's that next rung down. That next rung down is where we need to be. For now.

He's a starter in a very talented French national team. World class? No of course not.
But nevertheless it says something about the lads ability.

Giroud is a very solid player. His game is not built on pace. He has 2-3 good PL years left & if we get him, Rooney plus Sandro, DCL & another promising young forward we'd have upgraded massively on Rom/camel/West Ham reject. Obviously a big IF in that but given the way we've gone about business so far...
