No I don't think so either. I am just seeing a fair few posts saying he wont move UP NORTH like it's the depths of hell or something.

Just sense he won't want to move further than 5 miles away from his favourite male grooming salon or from somewhere he can pay £8.50 for a bowl of cereal.

He wants to stay at Arsenal according to an interview he gave to the Arsenal website. We should move on to Chicarito

Why would we move on to a player who is the polar opposite of the one we are originally going for? (if indeed we are going for him..)

That Jacomuzzi guy reckons we're signing him for 20M - No idea how reputable he is

Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi says the Toffees have cooled their interest in Napoli striker Duvan Zapata as they focus on signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.

The Premier League side have been linked with a swoop for Zapata, a striker that Jacomuzzi says would cost €25m to sign from Napoli.

It is Giroud who Everton are now focused on though, the scout says, feeling that Arsenal's French striker offers a potential bargain if he can be signed for £20m, meaning interest in Zapata is no longer relevant.

Jacomuzzi said on Italian radio station Radio Crc, when asked about interest in Zapata: "Not anymore.

"We are going to sign Giroud for £20m – a bargain compared to the €25m being asked for Zapata", Jacomuzzi added.

Giroud struggled for regular starts at Arsenal last season and his situation is set to get worse as the Gunners are close to signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for a club record transfer fee.

For Giroud, playing regular first team football next season is essential if he wants to book a spot in Didier Deschamps' France squad for next summer's World Cup in Russia.

I'd absolutely love Giroud. He'd be quality with the likes of Bolasie and Mirallas on the wings...No one would agree but i'd quite happily sell Lukaku and bring in Giroud as the replacement along with a few other names

I agree

I'm not taking the P btw, I actually do

We deffo need someone of his stature when Rom's gone, we need someone physical/ and tall up front, at least for another option, plus he's a good all round player.
He also seems the type of player that wouldn't be phased in the slightest going to a top 6 team and knocking there centre halves about.

Said a number of times I think he is a tremendous player. I love a target man and I don't see many of them better around than Giroud

Boss in the air, good with his back to goal, intelligent lay offs around the box, good finisher, great left foot. He is the sort of player who should bring the best out of Klaassen with his runs into the box and also provide a proper target for Baines and, potentially, Sigurdsson with their delivery

The only negatives are his lack of pace (which he has never had to begin with) and the fact that he's almost 31. We'll get a couple of good years out of him and with the addition of Sandro along with, potentially, Rooney - that gives us far more flexibility and depth than just having to rely on Lukaku with Kone and Valencia in reserve

Great news, stay at Arshenal Frenchy,

if Rom goes we need to spend big on a CF who's here for the long term.
