Up until very recently, our league top scorer was from a winger that was only at Everton for 18 months (Kanchelskis), in the past 25 - 30 years.

Its safe to say that from the early 90's onwards, we've not been blessed with a goalscoring striker until now.

Giroud is a consistent goalscorer and nearly always does well when he comes on or starts.
A transfer to Everton will weaken Arsenal and strengthen Everton and Wenger won't want that.

alternative perspective mate, they are buying a bloke who is behind giroud in the french pecking order and maybe one of his worries was about giroud still being here
