That being said, we've been awful in the groups

It seems the game plan was to not concede for the first hour by playing 4-3-3 when in possession becoming 4-5-1 when we lose possession. And that worked out ok.

But I think Unsy knew that, practically, we needed to win so made the attacking change into 4-2-3-1 at the hour mark to try to win the game.

Their first goal was a lucky deflection off Schneiderlin's tackle to set up the forward which our CBs might have done better with.

But at least we had a game plan, players knew what was expected of them and we were generally well organised - just short of skill and confidence.

So, not great but I think we are getting better - or less bad!

The substitution of DCL for Gana was a massive error. Not the change itself but the change in formation that accompanied it. As soon as we went to 4-2-3-1 we stop pressing their backline with Lennon and Lookman, backed off and they took control of the game again. Piss poor tactically and he should have realised what was obvious within 5 mins of the change, we've lost 2 goals within a further 10. Sorry Unsie you're not experienced enough and we can't afford for you to learn on the job.

Disappointing as we'd done alright until than point. Schneiderlin should have gone off anyway, as he'd been the worst of the 3 in midfield. Meh.

There are some really good players out there offset by some equally gash ones and it's killing us.

I think we have looked much better than under koeman. It's enough for me to give him a few more games to see if he can turn it around.

We needed to win tonight and he plays no strikers.

He says he wants us to try and win every game then plays for a draw in a must win game.

I agree we've been slightly better in attitude since he came in, tactically still weak though.
