Oscar Pistorius trial discussion

Sign of desparation that right at the end of the trial they suddenly want to whisk him away for 30 days to be tested for state of mind.

Is it just be or all all these little things building such a guilty case that the defence are trying to grasp at anything to not have him sent down for life?

Is he guilty or not lads?

A simple yes or no will do

Hit me up

He's as guilty as sin mate.

However, whether he's convicted is another matter...

The latest twist is that right at the end of the defence evidence, they wheeled out a supposed medical expert who said he suffered from an anxiety condition that meant he was liable to attack rather than run when confronted.

This is a total change in his defence, which all along has maintained that he shot on impulse and didn't knowingly shoot at an intruder - it was an 'accident'

As even if cleared of murder, he'd likely be culpable of the lesser charge of shooting to kill without ample provocation, which could land him 15 years.

The prosecution took issue and said that if the defence were claiming he had mental issues then that need to corroborated by him going for a 30 day assessment. This is an iffy strategy as if it comes back that he is mentally challenged, then he'll likely be deemed unfit to stand full stop. However, if it comes back he's fine, the credibility of the entire defence lies in total tatters

Guilty. The charge will be determined by lawyers, dodgy police work and emotive strings being pulled, and it sucks.

Short answer - guilty

Long answer - At the very least guilty of manslaughter for firing through a door without warning when he had neither been threatened nor knew who was behind it.

But think he did know who was behind it and shot her which is murder. Don't think it was a preplanned murder (more a crime of passion) and he seems to genuinely be remorseful but that doesn't help the poor woman or her family/friends.

Either way he should be jailed, perhaps not as long as a cold blooded muder but significant jail time none the less. Unfortunately think he'lll walk free.

I dont think he will be walking free. there is no grounds on him to even get away with it. He shot the gun and he killed her in the bathroom. Therefore its not if he will go to prison it is just how long for.

I think Peter Capaldi is struggling to grasp the family friendly aspect of his new job, tbh
