Other clubs summer transfers 2023

Hard to think of a player less bothered about actual football than Ruben Neves. Traded in captaining Porto in the champions league for presumably more money at championship wolves and now trading in any sort of move to a team of quality or simply staying put in the prem for a move that will kill his career in Saudi. Baffling, how much money does one need?
He must be one of those where its literally just a job to him.

He's only got 12 months or so on his contract. I think he's a very good player, lots of big club's looking at him...but they ain't paying £45mill

This is the bigger point here, Wolves get a massive fee - more so then if he went to Barca with a year on his deal in normal circumstances. All of a sudden Wolves have a transfer budget and some of their recent P & S problems get easier, thus distorting the competitiveness of the PL.

Wolves and Saints had a big splurge in Jan to try and survive in the prem too. Was rumoured that Lopetegui was gonna quit cos they were financially in the poop.

Neves - ghastly man.

If I met him in a lift I'd completely ignore him. Not that I have any idea what he looks like.

He's just another faceless money grabbing footballer.

There will be astonishment in here when we're the only ones to get done for 'financial breaches' whilst City, Chelsea, Wolves and Newcastle just carry on.
Not really, City have been bending the rules for years, so did we, they arent even breaking any rules either.

Nobody even blinked when Usmanov paid his best mate 35million to be able to bid for the rights of a Stadium that was still a Dock.

Getting a mate to pay for naming rights that are up for sale anyway isn't the same as circumventing rules in player trading to balance a spreadsheet.

Chelsea's 8 year contracts and now investment in a state that owns football clubs to offload players to them...in return will probably loan them out to teams like Newcastle all while paying them astronomical wages that doesn't effect the loan club's books

It's clever

Ours is gross mismanagement.

Everyone else is bending rules like Uri Geller bent spoons

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Neves either loaned straight out or only stay there 1 year before transferring back to Europe for a lower fee than what they paid for him.
