Aston Villa. Starting to get on my tit with the beginnings of an RS type love in by the media.
I'll admit to a bit of the green eyed monster but do those in the press and so on feel they have to anoint the next best thing?

Will be interesting to watch how they get on. I suspect they will end up going through a similar cycle to us. They won’t be able to generate the revenue required to support a wage bill large enough to make a sustained challenge to the established elite and will find themselves constrained by FFP. You can draw parallels with us being one of the old lady’s of English football. Big domestically but not one of the prem super powers. There is a bit of a who cares feeling towards them given the lack of a significant local rivalry to generate interest.

What you say makes sense and you describe the parallels between them and us football wise very well.
They are the reverse of us in one way though. In a two team city it is they, the team that doesn't carry the City's name that are the dominant side, unlike us who seem to be forever in the shadow of Murder Inc.

Shows what having a capable manager can do. I fear he will end up across the park when klopp finally bails.

Technically true though Birmingham are a complete non entity really. Only a handful of seasons in the PL

I'm sure you'll recall our halcyon days when Moshiri arrived and all those calls to get Emery to come to Goodison. Never understood him opting for PSG.
