They spent 200million, which will be split over most of the players contracts, so its "only" 40m a season if we assume they signed 5 year contracts.

Considering they have increased their revenue by around 150m this year, they will "probably" be ok, as long as they dont go crazy again this window.

Promoted clubs have so much leeway its crazy.

Like Everton at the start, we had so much "banked" due to our meagre spending pre-moshiri, we then also sold Lukaku for a huge amount and we had so much wiggle room. We then started stockpiling rubbish players, paying them a fortune and whoops, there you go, you post loses of 380million and you are goosed.

He is allowed to drift out of games by playing in the best team in the world but against better teams they'll benefit from someone like Kovacic who doesn't do that
