Everyone rates him. It’s just we all think he deserves to end his career with a decent medal or two. Even Spurs fans can’t begrudge that surely.

No, the experts rate him, alright. A player of that ability deserves to play for a truly great club and have a genuine chance of winning silverware, both domestic and continental.

He's 30, for God's sake. It's not like a generational talent is being stripped from the fans of a faded formerly great club at 18...

I thought he would go to another premier league team or sign on with palace, I just didn’t see a move to Turkey. I didn’t think Turkish teams had the resources to get a player like him in, albeit they have signed some big names in the past. I was also a little surprised by the contract too…. It was a bit lower than I thought. I still think he could only be there for the year but I’m not sure of the motives…::

Playing the Champions League? Also enormous and historic city, good food, nice weather, passionate fans.

He is already in his 30s, no? Maybe he wants to win something and experience something different and not fight relegation battles every year in a club with not much ambition.
I don't think any big (Champions League) clubs were interested for him anyway.
