Other clubs Transfer window 2024-2025

Incredible business if Villa manage to sell Duran for £60-odd million after he's started a mere 7 games for the club and was bought for £18 million. Smart move by the player too if he does go to Saudi, pick up your £300k tax-free a week for three years, return back to the big leagues £50 million richer and still several years off your prime.

Not sure why its a smart move? Surely a striker with his potential is worth more than that in today's market. Given how difficult it is to sign top strikers it's hard to know where they could find better. It looks like a move they are being forced into by ffp which again makes you question ffp and whether it's good for the game.

Because they only play with one striker and Watkins is very clearly their manager's preference over Duran. Duran isn't happy with his role so it's a move that makes sense for all parties.

Villa will never be able to consistently challenge for the top 4 if they have to sell a player like Duran and Man City can splash £150 million on reinforcements. I think the whole ffp thing is awful and unless if there is a reset the original big 6 will always be at a massive advantage.
If we were in Villas position and forced to sell a top young striker I would be very demoralised and wonder how a squad could ever be built long term.

I kinda understand now why championship and low Europe league players are valued at like £15-20m when you see the fee on Duran and the asking price on Kevin Schade.

Ludicrous transfer market these days.

It's career suicide.

Sad to see this.

Another win for PSR.

PL slowly strangling the Golden Goose.

It puts a lot of money in the bank, and maybe they're confident they can go and sign another three of that quality? Giving Emery the tools will eventually pay off. They're still in the CL as well. It's a new level finding season for them this one. city rs chelsea, then arsenal villa newcastle for the fourth league spot.

So far as Duran goes, has anyone heard anything from Ivan Toney recently? No?

Be interesting to see if he ends up at Newcastle or Chelsea next mate.

£60 odd million means nothing really, Villa's owners could spend that if they wanted too, but they aren't allowed
