If you take the word from the manager that he isn't fully fit as gospel, it's unfair to judge him on these very brief performances.
Plenty of players take a year to adjust to the demands of the premier league. I'll judge him next season

Whilst I admit his cameo appearances thus far have not been very positive, I for one will not start commenting on his abilities....or lack of them....until I see him play over a run of games in the late summer and autumn.
