The Senegalese striker arrived in a £13.5m deal on transfer deadline day at the start of February, the third-highest fee paid for a player by the club to date but has struggled to justify that massive price tag.

Niasse, in my opinion, is not what we need for the future in that position,” Koeman said, “but good luck to the boy.”

Smart man that Ronnie. But who is the future?

I'm sure it was mention on here that it was actually a complete fallacy. All he won was a player of the month award from an unrepeatable source.

For some reason I believe it was @bluestevon who mentioned it, however I might be totally incorrect there.

Aye mate a few others called it as bogus as well, but if it gets Palace to take them off him - then he was also voted Russian player of the decade, the best African player to ever play in Russia and most eligable bachelor 4 years running, he also won the annual Russia first division competition for who can catch the most chickens with their bare hands in 3 minutes

This palace deal could be a good deal all round.
Minimum it means is a year off paying his wages.
best possible outcome he somehow impresses enough to earn a deal and a decent amount of his fee back.
Even more unlikely outcome he adapts to english football after a full season, impressing enough to show he's worth keeping.

Surprised if we don't think he's good enough for the prem that palace do?

From what I've seen he looks like one of the worst signings ever to come to the premier league but why do I get the feeling he will prove me wrong?

I hope there was/will be a massive internal enquiry regarding this lad.

To have a player flop because he struggles to adapt to a particular league is one thing, but to sign one that the current manager writes off after a handful of preseason minutes is totally unacceptable at this level given the fee involved.

I'd like to think the scouts at this club are fairly decent given some of the talent we have unearthed in our skint years. So it raises the question of "did anyone at the club actually watch him play"?

Sounds like a ridiculous thing to to say, but really, what other explanation is there?

Panic buy of the worst kind. Just hope we have learned a very expensive lesson here (n)
