How many minutes has he played for us?

I mean, getting in trouble with the law man when he's already had a season that was the drizzling has boiled my pish more than his actual time on the field. Quite possibly the worst time to get himself in bother

However, if we're being fair to the lad

He's barely played, he hasn't been fully fit and he jumped on the Martinez Titanic long after it had already hit the iceberg

It's conceivable that with a full pre-season behind him, improved fitness and time working with Koeman that he could get better

It's not especially likely I grant you, but it could still happen

If we're not going to play him though, we need him off the wage bill. At the moment, him and Kone are our only options if Lukaku is missing, which should be chilling to any Evertonians blood

Koemans been so impressed with his ability, he doesn't want Mata anymore, and sees him akin to Payet {source: Finch Farm medical staff} soz this is pyar chaff..

We will ship him off on loan to a Turkish team mate

So far the lad has been uninspiring, however hear me out on this one...
If koeman can get shane long to look like a half decent premier league striker, is there a chance he can salvage something out of niasse?
If he gets into him with a shedload of ball work and uses him in a similar vein, i.e chase down defenders all day and take the workload off rom/bring our attacking mids into the game and chip in with the odd goal, then surely keeping him wouldnt be the worst idea?

Has anyone any idea of why we signed this lad or who gave the go ahead. Everything about it is so mental. Hugh money on a totally unfit player half way through a season with a iffy track record in a poor league. On top of that he looks completely useless. Kone, mcgeady, niasse, cleverley, Gibson, oviedo (Howard, osman, ) my god how do we think we have a half decent panel. If a 35 year old Barry is many fans player player of the season last year it says everything. We need a further clear out and 10 new players and a couple of years before we can go anywhere near a top 6 . Still ...heads up!!!

No, because Shane Long could still kick a ball before Koeman managed him

This is a toughie because nobody has seen him do anything of significance. But bear with me on this as I believe Mikey has made some very salient points.
I will never slag off any player who wears the Badge, and certainly not wishing to be offensive or trying to make comparisons, being a lot older than most on this site, I can remember a certain young Howard Kendall coming in for more than his fair share of criticism when he first joined. It was only after the summer break when he returned as a fully accepted member did HK prosper. The rest, they say, is geography.
So maybe we should just see what Koeman can do first. I personally don't think we should be too optimistic, but who knows.
