8 appearances and he's 26. A similar aged Jozy Altidore has nearly 100 caps for the USA so that tells you a lot about how bad he must be

That's a little harsh if you compare some his current competition for a forward line place in comparison to Jozy:

Senegal: Mame Biram Diouf, Sadio Mané, Moussa Konaté, Keita Baldé

USA: Bobby Wood, Clint Dempsey, Gyasi Zardes, Christian Pulisic, Chris Wondolowski

It's a safe bet he's shocking in training isn't it.

Martinez wouldn't even have him in the squad with his job on the line - it's unlikely he was tearing it up in training.

It's hard to know what was happening from Christmas onwards in the squad.
Niasse obviously did not come in and impress immediately , but then Lukaku didn't want to know and couldn't get off the team , Deulofeu who had a brilliant first half to his season could not get back into the team, there were ongoing issues with Mirallas throughout the season.

It is obvious the squad was dysfunctional near the end, not a good envoirnment for a new player from a different country to come into.
I think he deserves a chance and some time and then if he isn't good enough it's time for him to be moved on.
