Kevin Reeves needs to be questioned as to his ability as a head scout. Some of signings whilst with us have been questionable to say the least.

I don't think there's one fan for example who can see Niasse is clearly way off and even with four weeks before the start of the season can anyone honestly say he's going to improve enough? Reports are Koeman wants him out with a loan deal likely
 
When you think how Moyes would agonise about spending the clubs money, and Martinez goes out and lashes 20m inc wages on a player who'd struggle to turn out for Marine, and then three months later sues the club for his full ten million contract. What a shyster that guy was
This all happened whilst he was turning out the worst football I had ever seen, which he stoically defended week after week

Guy has been turd. Looks like Koeman needed as long as me.

Every scout and manager can make a mistake but I just for the life of me cannot see what they saw in him ha! Ok if we paid a few hundred grand and took a risk you'd forgive it but for 13m how on earth did they feel he was worth that

Either they saw something we haven't seen yet or they took a chance on football manager

Agreed it's an unforgivable amount of money. I'm disgusted to be honest. Careless.

Payet cost £10.7 million the same season !

Its impossible to make that big a mistake. Something definitely fishy and at the very least everyone involved in the deal deserves to lose their job over it. 13m wasted.

Not sure how true this is but I heard that Reeves recommended to Martinez that we swerve him. We'd just been knocked out of the League Cup by City and lost to Swansea at home so Martinez was getting desperate and pushed the move through anyway.

It doesn't add up to me either. I don't know why we signed him in January when we needed a striker (replacement for Naismith) when all we heard was he is unfit and not ready.. Surely we should have signed someone who was ready?

I don't believe he wasn't fit, I believe he was signed based on one persons opinion without Martinez seeing him for himself, and once he arrived and we all saw for ourselves how bad he was, he seemed to hide him and make excuses as he didn't want the fans to see what a bad decision we had made (couldn't even get in the reserves at one stage)

He should never even have got that far to be recommended to Martinez.
