Thing is though mate, you have to be fairly decent to score a technical goal like he did in the cup, then again today he took his first goal very well.

I have this crazy theory that to get good at football you have to play loads of football, so maybe playing with the u23s gave him time to adapt and understand what level he needed to be at. The loan move to Hull showed him premier league level.

Everton need top class players, but in a game where I watched a 45m player kick a football higher than anyone I have ever seen and into orbit when taking a set piece, then the names and fixtures don't matter, it's the goals and points from the players with no names.

It's a fantastically curious case.

It doesn't matter lad if you can make runs, get on the end and finish, the lad can score, looks a good finisher.

I tell you what, his work for the first goal was superb.

Starts by winning the ball off the oppo, immediate attacking intent, crisp pass, great run and cracking finish. Nothing average about any of his play there.

Absolutely made up for the fella.

But the people saying "you all wrote him off after 2 games, where are you now?" are just as guilty as the people they're having a go at. He's had a good 30 minutes of football. If he can keep this up I'll be as happy as anyone, but let's see. I wouldn't call it a loss for the knee-jerkers yet.

In probably just half a game of football. Yh8s terrible footballer has had a better season productively than players who are worthy for the first team.

Sometimes you have to give credit where credit is due. Kane couldn't make a championship team, drogba didn't make it until 24-25 And perhaps niasse is the best striker right now at the club?

It's easy to miss the subtleties of a goal.

For example, Calvert-Lewin involved with both too. Same combination of three players for both.

I'd start Niasse and DCL up top next game. Won't happen though.
