Our defence

Holgate and keane have proven beyond doubt they arent good enough if we want to improve and progress. We have seen plenty of them over the last number of years.

Godfrey is having a nightmare but was very good last season and is being played all over the place. He needs more time and more time in central defence. But not beside keane who for me is a mainstay in our soft side over the last number of years. English international. Dont make me laugh.

Mina is well capable of playing in a top side. But cannot stay fit. If he cant needs to be sold. A top team might still pay money for him. If he can prove he can stay fit he should definately gets a new contract.

Godfrey needs the Norwich coached out of him and quickly.

Can't remember the last time I was genuinely content with a Mason Holgate performance. Would have sold him last summer and am nearly at the point where I wouldn't mind seeing him get slung out for nothing.

Keane has shown that he can put spells of good form together but is equally capable of going on a disaster run. Certainly not good enough to start for a team that has any kind of ambition at all.

Mina is the best of the lot but you're not a great player if you're not on the pitch and that sadly happens far too often with him.

Hugely concerning. Godfrey is young and Holgate is, well Holgate - but Michael Keane's current form is pathetic and he should really be taking responsibility and showing some leadership.

We miss Mina badly.

Keane’s confidence is shot. Southgate knew he’s not up to it and jibbed him for England. Norwich is Holgate’s level.

Mina is good but misses at least 2 games a month.
Norwich tried to buy him in the summer but he wanted to stay and fight for his place, he not done much tonight to justify that, he should swallow his pride and except he would make a decent Championship footballer, no shame in that

I really cannot see Godfrey being a CB in a 2. No dominance no composure. Might get away in a 3 but would rather see him at full back if anywhere with the form he is in.

Keane looks like his entire leg joints have fused. Holgate is just pure gash and he thinks he's hard as nails. Kenny is no stand in for Coleman and Coleman has had it. Mina gets by on a grin and is good enough on his day when he's actually playing. Hopefully Godfrey's heart will stop being poorly and Digne needs to have a word with himself this season. Entire defence 4/10.

Ive been wanting to start a thread like this for about 2 years.
We havent got a decent defender.
I hate them all. Have done for a while.

That defence is going to get us relegated
In fact that midfield is also going to get us relegated
Dacoure is the only exception

Who manages to get 4 points?

That play in the second half where their lad walked past Keane and holgate before laying in his mate for Godfrey to jump out of a 50/50 pretty much sums up our defence. Without Mina they’re so poor you have to protect them with 3 in the middle of the park.

Keane is the biggest disappointment- I thought we would be getting a leader, someone who would marshal the defence, dish out the rolls kings when needed. Did we do no research on his character before buying him - the biggest confidence playing centre half I’ve ever seen who gets physically pushed around by every CF in the league.

£30m he cost and that was with a single year left on his contract - can you imagine what we would have had to have paid if he had 2/3/4 years left. £30m would be a record transfer for half the league and we just merrily pee it up the wall on this lad.

It sums up the club currently that after proving himself not good enough on so many occasions he ends up getting a contract extension.
