Its not just Goodison, at away games! Opposing fans come 2 goodison and sing for most of the game and stand through out, we go away and most of the time stand up and sing EV-ER-TON!!!! while the players run out and then we sit down. We should do what away fans do at goodison..

Yes we had a good atmosphere 2nd half vs city, Man utd, Liverpool but i don't see why we don't get behind the team when they need it most like against say Wigan 0-0 instead of sitting there in silence!

People who think we have the best fans in the world are dreaming, no way were the best fans in the world. NO WAY!!!

anyone who mentions stoke being loud...i have to tell you that they have microphones that feed the noise back to amplify and make it louder than what it is...

i think our fans are good like, but i think when our team is playing like they dont care, us being silent cant help...we need to be screaming from the first whistle!

I think we need to be compare before we're judged to be poor. Nothing beats goodison when it's rocking. What
Does my head in are clubs that need a drum to get the support going. Bolton, Tranmere, I'm talking to you. Has anybody been to arsenal? That's by far the quietest crowd ever

Arsenal have some right mental lady support. I had the displeasure of going to the 6-1 drubbing at goodison. I was sitting in the top balcony and there was a couple in arsenal shirts. The thing that stood out was the fact that the woman was wearing zebra skin leggings. At the end of the match, this girl was full of smiles and quite loud while all us blues were grieving. This went on for a little while until this fella piped up and said 'oi zebra keks, shut yer mouth'. It didn't quite make my day but it took the edge off it.

So much has changed over the years. All seater stadiums mean that all fans have a certain level of comfort. The price of tickets means that we are more demanding - and rightly so.

All the shouting and singing in the world isn't going to change anything if the tactics are wrong and we are being totally outplayed at home by Wigan.

As for standing constantly throughout the match - don't you think younger and 'vertically challenged' people have the right to see the game? If someone decided to support the team by standing in front of me and my son for 90 minutes I would react in a way I would consider appropriate.

It could also be that all seater staduims have enabled the majority of match-goers to actually see the game before them. For many years as a youngster I stood in the paddock and, in all honesty, couldn't really see what was going on. :D

Just wondered if any of you agree, that our fans are very poor, meaning singing, standing and supporting the team. Alot of people are biased and say we are the best fans in the world and all that, we are not at all.

Goodison used to be one of the worse grounds 2 visit for opposing fans and players due to our great, hostile atmosphere. Now away fans treat it like a walk in the park and take the mik out of us! ( its like a library!! We forgot that you were here!! and all that being sung with basically no response) its not on, we need goodison 2 be rockin once again and for away games, too stand and sing for the full 90 not sit down and sing when we r playing well or winning, get behind them know matter what win lose or draw.

There was a post on here a couple of weeks ago saying for fans to who want to stand and sing to congregate in the back corner of the Park End next match or something.

We do have the fans we just need organising a bit and about a dozen hardcore fans who have the bollocks to make it work, have that the rest wil grow.

Do we have a dozen fans with a bollocks to make it happen? Would you be prepared to be one of the dozen fans who will put that effort in?

Two games I went too, the atmosphere was superb...

That was the 3.1 loss over west brom, and Chelsea when Coleman got sent off.

Shiznits gotta kick off on the pitch really.

You wouldn't scream like mad if your favourite band came out and put on a drunken sh!tty performance, would you?

Everton came out half-cocked against some utter tripe at home this season and rightfully didn't get the support they deserved.

That said, the atmosphere during the 2nd half of the City game was unbelievable.

I tell you what then, let's go all manufactured and wave flags and hold scarves aloft, and have 'singing sections' all in aid to make the atmosphere better.....

Yeh we are timid at times, but i tell you one thing and i've always said it...when Goodison needs us, we make it rock. I'd sooner sit in a quiet atmosphere than an artificial one

That's not a good analogy for some fans though. Yes loads of fans go the match to watch a match and to be entertained like you would to see a band.

However, I can understand that for some going the match is about being part of Everton and willing them to win, and so if getting behind them by singing can add half a percent to the players efforts then that's what they want to do. That is not comparable to watching a band for that type of fan.

A singing section is a good idea. If you understand what people mean by a singing section then you'll know it is not in anyway manufactured support.

When Goodison needs us, we are not always there. Last season we had bad home results to teams in the bottom three or four that cost us Europe. The fans were therefore needed then, they didn't 'show up' up then.
