My little lad was jumping about when it finished shouting "we've beat the Redshite dad!" little sod he is had to pretend I was dissapointed that he swore to keep the missus of me backlol

...I’m old but other than a few golden periods, we’ve always seemed to struggle against them. I know it’s particularly tough for todays youngsters, but it’s never been particularly easy. We should all take a step back and be grateful we are us and not them.

What would be terrific is for recent generations to see us win something. Its something our younger fan base richly deserve. We’re still in the FA Cup, so you never know.

Yes Eggs it is something us Oldies have enjoyed looking back. I can recall victory parades around GP.

I've let them know that Liverpool generally win which makes it more important when we do. Liverpool and their fans are like Veruca Salt, spoilt brats.
Everton are more like Spartacus.

First win over them in my son's lifetime... I think he understands the significance, but it's a great pity he's not at school just now as he's the only blue there among a fair few opportunistic RS (although I can see them all switching to Citeh soon, the way things are going). He was right into football and always loved going to the games, but I think football in Covid times has seen him lose a bit of interest in it all, which is understandable as even we adults realise these closed doors games are really lacking. Hopefully he'll stay interested enough until we can get back to going to matches again.

We’ve only won at Anfield six times since the Second World War.

That’s less than once a decade.
We've actually won at Anfield eight times, in the league, since the war.

I think you must be referring to Spitty's post-match analysis on Sky. He was talking about six times since 1960, but neglected to include last week-end's win in his figures, probably because his brain was struggling to process the trauma and was still in a state of semi-denial.

Also, a bit random that he chose from 1960. There were no derbies between 1951 and 1962 because Everton were in the old 2nd Division for three seasons from 1951-54 and the RS were from 1954-62.

Carragher couldn't praise Everton without reminding everyone about how dominant the RS have been, and manipulating figures and dates slightly to make it look even worse. It's typical kopite behaviour. He's a gobshite like the rest of them.

I think you are right here, but we still haven’t won many.

Careagher made the point that we have not mentally been right for these games. Too fires up, then getting red cards.
